Any terminally ill child up to the age of 18 years old is eligible to be considered for having their wish granted.
In addition, that child must be a resident of Greater Will County. Children from neighboring counties will be considered on a special request basis.
In order to honor the privacy of the family, Wish Upon A Star will not openly solicit the granting of wishes. They will work primarily on a referral basis. Only with initial contact by the involved family or their physician will a formal application be sent.
Upon receipt of the application, a meeting of a special advisory committee will be called to evaluate the request. This committee will determine the validity of request and whether or not Wish Upon A Star can grant that request.
